It's Time to Get Connected!

We, at the Chatham Avalon Park Community Council, believe that it is time, on the eve of the Olympic Games bid selection for Chicago 2016, that Chatham now plan ahead and seek to have the digital divide between us and the affluent suburbs be crossed so that we are technologically ready for the Summer Games (Olympic Stadium will be only 1 mile away). If South Korea can have download speed of 20.4 megabits per second, then the infrastructure must be put in place where by this year's end we will have that speed and more for all of all tech-savvy residents. It is time for the City of Chicago Office of Cable and Communications to make it real, very soon, before this area is overwhelmed by the broadband and WI-Fi demand of waves of tourist and journalist hungry for every Olympics.
