National Trails Day with Friends of the Parks

Dunning Read Conservation Area
National Trails Day
Saturday, June 6 10am-1pm
Join Us June 6!
Friends of the Parks will be celebrating National Trails Day at Dunning Read Conservation Area and we want you to join us! Since it is National Trails Day, volunteers will be helping clear some of the weeds and invasive plants and re-mulch the almost-mile long trail.
A Brief Intro to DRCA:
In 2005, a coalition of local open-space advocates won their campaign to permanently protect a 25-acre parcel of woods and wetlands adjacent to the Chicago Read Mental Health Center on Chicago's Northwest Side. The purpose of the Dunning Read Conservation Area is to preserve, enhance, restore and maintain the natural features, wetland resources and the site's ecology. Throughout the year, Friends of the Parks hosts both community and corporate service days at DRCA to help with these efforts.
If you are unable to make it June 6, but are interested in volunteering with Friends of the Parks, please contact
Sam Sadlier, Manager of Engagement and Events at: sadliers@fotp.org.
