Seed Grant Deadline Approaching - June 30th

Hello amazing PACers,

This is just a friendly reminder that the Burpee(R) Seed Grant Application deadline is less than a couple weeks away. For over a decade, Friends of the Parks' staffers delighted in Seed Grant time, as everyone gets involved in the review process. It is an opportunity for all staff members, from our grant writer to our policy director, to see the great work you're all doing in your parks and to share in your pride. We are so excited to distribute the 2015 micro-grants -- $5,000 in total -- to your PACs across the city! If you are in need of an application, please email me at machucan@fotp.org.

Also, don't forget to sign up for CPD's July PAC Workshop on social media here: www.chicagoparkdistrict.com/events/PAC-Workshop-Social-Media-at-South-Shore/

If this is the first email you've received from me, I'd like to introduce myself as Friends of the Parks' new Director of Environmental Education & Neighborhood Parks. I will be working to support your organizations and park space here on out. As a native Chicagoan, park-user since birth, and former FOTP intern under Renee Chester and Mary Eileen Sullivan, I am very excited to serve in this position and to work with you all in the future. If you have any questions or concerns about your park, your PAC, or fiscal sponsorship, I invite you to email me. If you were a 2014 Burpee Seed Grant awardee or a PAC that receives fiscal sponsorship through FOTP, and has yet to submit your reports, please email me ASAP.

I'd also like to introduce you to the Neighborhood Park's team here at Friends of the Parks. You may already know Melanie Moore, Director of Policy, and Kim Klein, Director of Operations. The three of us will work together to support PACs, execute Chicago Plays! renovations, troubleshoot park policy issues, and offer Seed Grants.

Thank you for being the amazing citizens and park lovers that you are. Our team looks forward to continuing our mission of preserving, protecting, improving and promoting the use of parks throughout our very special city, and doing so by supporting you.
Regards,

Nicole
