Juneteenth Poll & Picnic Updates

Grand Crossing Park Neighborhood Network
"...What YOU can do for YOUR Neighborhood"
Hello all,
We're almost at our destination for a nice day in the park in the spirit of togetherness at our annual Juneteenth picnic
Juneteenth Poll
We have another poll on "Next Door" seeking to illustrate how people feel about "Juneteenth" in general. It's also a creative marketing ploy for our event. Feedback from people is that there are a large trend of people seeking to ignore it or place little value in recognizing it, in it's own right.
Please take a few minutes and respond to the poll.
I'd be grateful for any feedback, which you can place in comments under the post on Next Door, or in a return email under this one.
Picnic updates
We are still looking for:
  • Baked cake
  • Baked beans
  • Baked fish
  • Baked chicken
  • Cole slaw
  • Corn on cobb
  • Potato salad
  • Apples, Oranges, Grapes
  • Pies
  • Ice Cream
  • Coolers
  • Ice
  • We are in need of some charcoal for the grill, lighter fluid etc.
  • We have 2 grills, but no griller.
  • Volunteers at large to help with adjustments, security, etc.
The above are suggestions, please contribute.
Eat and run is expressly prohibited.
This is a communal (Ujima) collective responsibility event.
We ask that people reasonably pitch in with everything, fill the gaps assist where needed, engage in communal step up and take down.
Bring a few extra dollars to tip the band!
