The 79th Street Corridor Business Association will host “Safe Summer on 79th Street, March and Rally. Participates include: Father Pfleger, St. Sabina Catholic Church, 6th ward Alderman Sawyer, 8th ward Alderman Michelle Harris, Rev. John Hannah, New Life Convenient Church, WVON radio personality, Daveda Flute, and Regal Theater Owner, Jerald Gary.

 

The march will take place Saturday, June 27, 2015; at 9a.m. Participants are requested to meet at Taylor Funeral Home parking lot (63 E. 79th Street), 8:30a.m. The march will proceed to 7900 S. State Street, moving Eastbound on the 79th Street business corridor and ending at the Regal Theater (1641 E. 79th Stony Island), for an awe-inspiring Rally!   

 

There will be speakers, vendors’ present disseminating pertinent information, entertainment, music and food! The event is FREE to the public. The 79th Street Business Corridor Association is focused on uniting businesses, residents, churches and organizations in a galvanized effort to work towards constructive solutions.

 

The overall goal of this initiative is to promote public safety; non-violence in the community; build a stronger business environment; and create viable jobs for residents. We are encouraging people all ages to join us, as we march the 79th Street business corridor proclaiming a safe summer! The color we are requesting participants to wear is orange, in recognition of PEACE.
