North Park Village
Nature Center Winter Events
North Park Village Nature Center, 5801 N. Pulaski Rd.
Spring Flower Show
at Lincoln Conservatory
Daily, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
The free annual Spring Flower Shows offer visitors a
chance to experience the beauty of spring with a rare opportunity to meet the
direct descendants of the great Azaleas that once bloomed at the World's
Columbian Exposition of 1893. In addition, this year's flower shows will feature
a changing selection of spring blooming plants including Azaleas, spring
flowering annuals and spring flowering perennials.
Wednesdays and Saturdays in February, times
The Chicago Blackhawks are giving kids the
opportunity to participate in a one-hour ice hockey clinic! Skates and equipment
will be provided at no cost. No prior ice skating experience is required.
Prowl at Northerly Island
in February, 12:00 pm to 12:45 pm
out the family (ages 3 and up) and join us for a guided, nature-based outdoor
activity led by Northerly Island Program Staff. Exploration activities will
include: Animal Tracks, The Art of Semaphore, Lake Study, Birding and more. We
will meet-up in the Visitor Center prior to embarking on our adventure! For more

Ice Skating -
Sundays in February, times vary
Check the Chicago Park District's calendar for skating at a park near
you. Ice rink is available for open
skate during this time with your favorite cartoon characters. Fee:

Up to Winter with Nature Oasis! Come out and hear winter stories, track animals
through the park, toast marshmallows, and add skills to your winter survival
toolkit. People of all ages are invited to join this free program.

Montrose Point Bird Sanctuary Master Plan -
Join the Chicago Park District for a public meeting
to help build the framework for a master plan for the Montrose Point Bird
Sanctuary and its surrounding area. This will include the updated restoration
and management plan for the area. If you are interested in learning and
contributing to the future of Montrose Point Bird Sanctuary, please join us for
a conversation regarding the development of a restoration and management plan

of the Parks is pleased to honor the the groups and individuals for their
dedication and work in Chicago's parks and preserves. President Toni
Preckwinkle of the Forest Preserve District of Cook County will be speaking on
the Next Century Conservation Plan for the Forest Preserves of Cook County.

Winter Ball at Sherwood Park
Participants will display their talents in the
ballroom dancing as well as having a royal court to decide King & Queen of
Sherwood Park, entertainment will be provided as well as dinner served. For more
