The free annual Spring Flower Shows offer visitors a chance to experience the beauty of spring with a rare opportunity to meet the direct descendants of the great Azaleas that once bloomed at the World's Columbian Exposition of 1893. In addition, this year's flower shows will feature a changing selection of spring blooming plants including Azaleas, spring flowering annuals and spring flowering perennials. Free.

The Chicago Blackhawks are giving kids the opportunity to participate in a one-hour ice hockey clinic! Skates and equipment will be provided at no cost. No prior ice skating experience is required. Free.

Bring out the family (ages 3 and up) and join us for a guided, nature-based outdoor activity led by Northerly Island Program Staff. Exploration activities will include: Animal Tracks, The Art of Semaphore, Lake Study, Birding and more. We will meet-up in the Visitor Center prior to embarking on our adventure! Montrose Point Bird Sanctuary Master Plan - Public Meeting

Join the Chicago Park District for a public meeting to help build the framework for a master plan for the Montrose Point Bird Sanctuary and its surrounding area. This will include the updated restoration and management plan for the area. If you are interested in learning and contributing to the future of Montrose Point Bird Sanctuary, please join us for a conversation regarding the development of a restoration and management plan for the site. President Toni Preckwinkle of the Forest Preserve District of Cook County will be speaking on the Next Century Conservation Plan for the Forest Preserves of Cook County. Buy your tickets now.
