In the pre-Civil War United States, Solomon Northup, a free black man from upstate New York, is abducted and sold into slavery. During Solomon’s 12 years of forced enslavement he faces cruelty at the hands of a malevolent slave owner, as well as unexpected kindnesses; Solomon struggles not only to stay alive, but to retain his dignity. Join us as we dissect Solomon’s harrowing true story from enslavement to freedom.The Film is rated R. Children under the age of 17 must be accompanied by an adult.
