National Night Out - Porch light Festival, 7300 Block of Drexel ave.7 -10pm

Grand Crossing Park Neighborhood Network

"...What YOU can do for YOUR Neighborhood"

Dearest Neighbors & Stakeholders,
Our 2014 National Night Out event is Tuesday August 5th 6:30 p.m. in the 7300 block of Drexel. "National Night Out" is a display of neighbor solidarity against crime and violence. In recent years we have been executing a plan to grow this annual event into a large scale yearly tradition here in the south side. Make no mistake, this is a very important event!

Computer problems have rendered our network capability to almost nothing over the last month. The spreading of the word has been consequently thwarted as a result. It is vital we have peak participation from our associates as 2014 continues to be a pivotal year in growing our grass roots connections into a viable force against crime and violence in Chicago, and repair our image to the world. We need for our network associates, who are not otherwise engaged, to kick in and attend this event..

As always we are depending on people collaborate, step up step out and support this very vital capacity building event. By collaborate we mean kick in resources to make things happen. If you are within earshot of this email you have a chance to contribute to this effort of violence reduction it is all important, it is our everything at this point in time. Together, we must sustain our efforts to stop the violence.

Although there are large "CAPS" celebrations around the city we must never forget that "National Night Out" is a grassroots initiative, from the people, not the government, It is neighbors - neighbor to neighbor, neighborhood to neighborhood standing up in solidarity with each other. In many ways this is humanity's highest calling - working together for peace on earth!. The CAPS takeover, in many ways is debilitating to our community because it allows people to once again depend on the government to solve all it's problems.Grassroots must remain as independent as possible for a healthy community.

Spread the word. This Tuesday- get involved!

Under the spirit of the revitalization of Chicago, I hope to see you there.
