Join the Chicago Community Loan Fund and our partners at the Chicago Center for Green Technology for a two-day overview of affordable, good and green design.
This green building and design primer will help affordable housing and community development practitioners better understand what green building is and why it is important. Sessions will include:
  • Integrated design process: How it facilitates green building and why every development team should employ it
  • Hands-on energy modeling exercise: How different building types and locations require different solutions
  • Local case studies: How others have navigated the process, including financing
  • IECC 2012: The new code is here - are you prepared? Hear about the biggest changes and how it compares to other third party verifications.
  • The latest on solar: PV vs. Solar Thermal, ROI, Carbon Credits
  • Where to find sustainable financing sources and incentives
  • Site visits: Multi-family new construction and a single-family gut rehab
