Specially designed for organizations new to the field of affordable housing development, this one-day crash course will lay the foundation for your project planning success. At this full-day workshop, our expert presenters will cover: Organizational Capacity: How will the project support your mission? What key issues do you need to consider when deciding if your organization should become a developer? The development process, including interactive exercises. Affordable housing policy and the importance of advocacy. Negotiating contracts and working with architects, contractors, title companies and other professionals. Financing rules of thumb for multifamily and single-family affordable housing developments and how to estimate financial need. Practice putting together a development proforma and budget, including available sources of financing. What lenders look for in your financing application. Registration closes June 5th!
