Specially designed for organizations new to the field of affordable housing development, this one-day crash course will lay the foundation for your project planning success.
At this full-day workshop, our expert presenters will cover:
  • Organizational Capacity: How will the project support your mission? What key issues do you need to consider when deciding if your organization should become a developer?
  • The development process, including interactive exercises.
  • Affordable housing policy and the importance of advocacy.
  • Negotiating contracts and working with architects, contractors, title companies and other professionals.
  • Financing rules of thumb for multifamily and single-family affordable housing developments and how to estimate financial need.
  • Practice putting together a development proforma and budget, including available sources of financing.
  • What lenders look for in your financing application.
