Outdoor nature program for families have the chance to enjoy the park together. A variety of live animals like frogs, snakes, birds, and turtles will be available. Musicians will sing family friendly music. There are instruments for the kids to play with, puzzles, books, blocks, fishing and more! Adult supervision is required throughout the evening. Free.

Clark Park Fundraiser and Community Celebration

"The Great Fire: A Traveling Truck Show" is a wacky performing arts event that will tour Chicago this October with a moving truck and pop-up stage. Reviving the form of early American traveling shows and referencing Chicago neighborhood histories after the1871 Great Fire, the troupe spins a tale that engages audiences with storytelling, music, comedy, multimedia dioramas, and magic. Support the park, celebrate the last remaining public green space once home to Riverview, and enjoy the festivities! It will be fun for the whole family-concessions, a raffle, games, and an entertaining show! Free.

Open Spaces/Green Places Tour
Chicago Cultural Center, 78 E. Washington
Join the Southeast Environmental Task Force and Friends of the Parks on a tour of the vast open spaces of Chicago's southeast side. Experience lakes, Chicago's "other river- the Calumet" streams, ponds, marshes; a man-made waterfall; a world-class championship golf course built atop a garbage dump; and the tranquil preserve surrounded on three sides by landfills, where an American bald eagle pair have nested, and are raising their young. Visit the nearly 600 acres of marshes and green space that the Chicago Park District has recently acquired. Learn the plans for these special places, and plans for the Ford/Calumet Environmental Center. Share in the excitement of the developing Millennium Reserve plans slated for this unique landscape within the city.
