We, at the Chatham Avalon Park Community Council, were pleased to learn that Senator Dianne Feinstein, (D-California) and Chairwoman of the Senate Rules Committee, has defected from her leadership colleagues, and now supports the seating of Chatham resident and former Illinois Attorney General Roland Burris to fill the vacancy left in the United States Senate as junior senator in light of the election of President-elect Barack Obama.
