One Chicago...BLACK, WHITE & BLUE rally

Grand Crossing Park Neighborhood Network
"...What YOU can do for YOUR Neighborhood"
Thanks and gratitude goes out to the 20 or so supporters who showed up yesterday (Saturday) as a community voice supporting the men and women who justifiably keep the peace in our neighborhoods. It took gumption, courage and leadership to do so and many people across Chicago and the nation applauds such citizenry.
The current crisis in the city will eventually heal itself and hopefully lead to substantial, positive reforms. We must also hold the line on violence and chaos. Neighborhood leadership needed to stand up and Grand Crossing was the first do so in the city.
It must never be misconstrued that those supporters support wrongdoing by the police, but rather the "right doing" which ensures peace and safety everyday as innocent people make the way to school, work, stores and their homes, where they sleep at night enjoying the safety produced by the officers who do their jobs. We cannot forget this.
Special thanks goes to Jose Wilson for stepping forward to lead this gesture of appreciation and fairness. "One Chicago...BLACKWHITE & BLUE...standing against all injustice" helps get the ball rolling in neighborhood resiliency.
