PROVIDERS’ CALL FOR MORE FUNDING
On Tuesday,
February 17, thousands of child care providers will march at 10:30 a.m. at
nearby parks to protest against the stagnant state of child care funding.
“High-quality affordable child care not only provides parents support while
they are at work but it also gives children a critically important first step on
a lifelong path of education,” stated Sixth Ward Alderman Roderick T. Sawyer. “I
want people to contact their state legislators before child care centers start
closing. This is too important of an issue to allow politics to control the
state of children’s well-being across Illinois.”
