Chatham is the African American
Middle
Class Dividend. Things have
changed over
the past decade in our community service
area from (75th Street to 87th, Cottage Grove
to State Street. Our Elders built it, will (WE)
maintain & redevelop it or
will Chatham 60
plus legacy wither away because of
apathy ?
1. Median age of resident has decreased
2. Median income has decreased over
$10,000
3. Unemployment rate increased
5.
Chatham has great well built housing stock
6. Chatham
is being slowly GENTRIFIED
7. Quality education needs to be our #1 priority
8. Public safety needs to be our #2 priority
9.
More residents in our area than ever
ever before are receiving
assistance from
the federal government.
10. We must attract viable
business, new green & technical jobs to Chatham.
