One man was stabbed to death and another injured Wednesday night during an argument with a third person in the Chatham-Avalon Park neighborhood, police said.
The incident occurred at about 11 p.m. in the 8200 block of South Drexel Avenue, according to police.
The dead man was stabbed in the chest and taken to University of Chicago Medical Center. The other man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn with a stab wound to the back. His condition was not immediately known.
The Cook County medical examiner's office had not confirmed the identity of the man who died this morning. A spokeswoman said investigators believe the man was in his 40s.
No one was in custody this morning. Calumet Area detectives are investigating.
