Thank you
to all of you who participated in our end of the year giving. Together we were able to raise over $80,000.00 in end of the year donations for our work in strengthening communities, equipping leaders, and empowering organizations. We want to send special thanks to all of you who were first time donors into the work we are doing. Welcome to the family! Through your investment we surpassed our goal of $50,000.00 by 60%.
Remembering
J. Robert "Rob" Effinger (1934-2013)
Last year, Goodcity lost a friend and former board member in J. Robert Effinger. "Rob" as he was most affectionately called was a tireless volunteer and friend of our organization. He inspired hundreds to bring their dream into a reality. There were countless mornings where you will find Rob at the offices in Austin (Chicago) meeting with individuals who came in because they had a desire to start an organization or start a social enterprise. He was a member of our family and we will miss him dearly.
Thank you Rob for the inspiration you gave all of us and for your model of love and care. Arrangements are being made by the staff to honor Rob for all of his contributions to the community and to the organization.
A remembrance of his life can be found in a recent article by the Chicago Tribune by clicking here.

Each hero will be featured in a :60 video presentation that will capture the essence of how they are powering lives in their community and neighborhood. We are proud to have both individuals as a part of our Goodcity Incubator Program.
