Chatham MMRP supporters:
Join us on August 1st as
bicyclists are coming together to celebrate the Chatham Neighborhood, its
architecture, food and its other gems by participating in the Chatham "Soul
Train" Bike Ride. The ride is in partnership with Community Investment
Corporation, 6th Ward Alderman Roderick T. Sawyer, & 8th Ward Alderman
Michelle Harris and is being organized by Chatham DevCorp and Slow Roll Chicago,
which is a community-based organization utilizing bicycles to connect a diverse
group of people, transform lives, and improve the condition of communities by
organizing community bicycle rides throughout the greater Chicago area. Slow
Roll is for everyone; all ages, skill levels and types of bikes are welcome.
Slow Roll aligns with our vision of making Chatham healthier, more empowered,
more economically viable, more socially cohesive, more bike friendly and
ultimately more livable. In addition this bike ride will promote reducing
violence, improving health and creating jobs in Chatham. Below are links for the
event. Please sign up and spread the word via email and social media!
