Evans in Action
|
|
As we enter the
month of May, this first session of the 99th General Assembly is winding down.
We are all diligently working through bills and many of the critical issues will
be voted on soon. As your representative I am not only voting on these
measures, but I am personally working to push bills.
When I first
entered the House of Representatives one of my top goals was to do something to
help the pension security of all of the phenomenal retired teachers of
Chicago. One of my bills this year, HB3695, takes steps to accomplish that
goal. This legislation, which I have pushed since my firset day in office,
creates a more secure and dedicated funding stream for the pensions of the
retired teachers of Chicago. I call it the "minimum payment
bill" and the bill passed out of the house last month. This is just one
of many other issues that I am passionately pushing in Springfield.
In the community I
am always accessible and I am always looking for ways to better serve
our district in a collaborative way. Therefore, if you would like to share your
ideas or opinions, always feel free to visit my office or website.
Please know that I will
continue to push and advocate for you, our community and try to make a
difference in Springfield. Keep me in your thoughts and prayer, and I will keep
you in mine!! Thank you for allowing me to serve you.
All the
Best,
Marcus C. Evans,
Jr.
