WHO:
Student Minister Abel Muhammad, Representative to the Spanish Speaking
Community, The Nation of Islam; Rev. Lonnie Newman, Founding Member, Christian
STEM Scholars Academy; Rabbi Shemaiah Clark, DD, Ph.D.; Phillip Jackson, The
Million Father March and The Black Star Project, and 50 people of faith.
WHAT:
The Million Father March along with Christian, Muslims and Jews will pray for
the safety and security of all Chicago children during the coming school year.
Police and educators, by themselves, are not enough to keep our children safe
during the coming school year. Parents, communities and faith organizations
must also be involved to successfully educate our children and to keep them
safe.
WHEN: Sunday,

3:15 pm (photo opportunities)
WHERE: Mollison Elementary School
4415 South King Drive - 400 East
Chicago, Illinois
Why:
When fathers are at schools, schools are safer. When fathers are at
schools, students have better conduct. When fathers are at schools, children
learn more and better. Fathers can, should and must play a critical role in the
education of children. Schools cannot succeed without the
support, participation and engagement of fathers and men. The Million Father
March started in a church basement on Chicago's south side 11 years ago. Today,
Christians, Muslims and Jews come together to Pray Around the Schools. The
Million Father March has now grown to more than one million fathers in 500
cities across America taking their children to
school.
