Additionally, Caroline Kennedy is considered a candidate for the position of Ambassadors to the Holy See and the United Kingdom, a position once held by her late grandfather Joseph P. Kennedy, Sr.[69] However, she also appears to be on the shortlist to replace Obama's Secretary of State-designate, Hillary Rodham Clinton, as the junior senator from New York.[70][71]
