This is one reason we must
fight for strong Historically Black Colleges and
Universities (and there are so many more)!
This racist
chant, caught on video, is from members of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity (SAE)
at the University of Oklahoma. The fraternity has since been banned from the
University of Oklahoma. Here is the chant:
"There will never be a nigger in
SAE!
There will never be a nigger in
SAE!
You can hang 'em from a
tree,
But they will never (inaudible)
with me!
There will never be a nigger in
SAE!"
Please protect Black students on
the campus of the University of Oklahoma and other college and university
campuses where Black students are a small minority.

The Case For Strong HBCUs
While some
students (not all) from a Predominantly White Institution (PWI) were engaged in
racist chants, students from Morehouse College, a Historically Black College or
University (HBCU) traveled to Chicago from Atlanta, Georgia to help teach young
Black boys to read. This is one of the best cases for maintaining strong HBCUs.
There are many more!!! These young men represent all HBCUs.

In America, generally, the more education you
have, the more money you earn.
The
above diagram comes from a report titled "The College Payoff: Education,
Occupations, Lifetime Earnings" released 4 August in 2010 by Georgetown
University's Center on Education and the Workforce. As the title reflects, the
study looks at how lifetime earnings change based on education level and also by
occupation. The report looks at what percentage of the time that occurs, and
what occupations are the highest and lowest paying based on levels of
education.
