State Representative Elgie Sims announces new website serving residents of the 34th District
In an effort to continue engaging and providing information to the residents of the 34th Illinois House District, state Representative Elgie R. Sims, Jr. (D - Chicago) is pleased to announce the new 34th District website located at www.RepElgieSims34.com.
"Residents visiting the website can request state agency assistance, see job announcements, invite me to events being hosted in their community, see legislation I am sponsoring and find out other important news related to our office," Sims said. "This website will allow residents of the district with a one stop place for information which will help us provide the level of service our constituents deserve."

Family Wellness Health Fair

State Representative Elgie Sims (D-Chicago) in partnership with state Senator Donne E. Trotter, state Representative Marcus C. Evans, Jr., Cook County Commissioner Stanley Moore, Jr. and Wal-Mart is hosting the 17th Legislative District Family Wellness Heath Fair and Back to School rally on Saturday, August 3 at Avalon Park in Chicago.
As we prepare to celebrate the start of a new school year, the Fair will provide students of our area with school supplies as well as the opportunity to receive health information for the entire family, including free child immunizations (shot records required), HIV/AIDS testing and adult wellness checkups (blood pressure, cholesterol and diabetes), all screenings will occur free of charge.

State Representative Elgie R. Sims, Jr. in partnership with Cook County Board of Review Commissioner Larry Rogers, Jr. is presenting several upcoming forums that will provide residents information related to the Cook County property tax appeals process.

State Representative Elgie Sims Announces Satellite Office Hours in Peotone
In a continued effort to keep an open line of communication with the residents of the 34th district, state Representative Elgie Sims (D-Chicago) will be hosting satellite office hours in Peotone on Monday, July 30th 3:30 - 5:30 pm at the Peotone Village Hall, 208 East Main Street, Peotone, IL.
"One of my top priorities is to be an open and accessible legislator for the communities in our community," Sims said. "I understand that not everyone is able to visit my office during the work day. These satellite office hours will help ensure that all of my neighbors across the district can seek assistance or share their thoughts on state and local issues."
Sims established satellite office hours as a way to make sure that all constituents throughout the 34th district are able to contact their state representative. District office staff will be on hand to answer questions and assist with state issues. Sims encourages district residents to stop by to share their views on legislative developments or request information on pending legislation. Appointments are not necessary.

State Representative Elgie Sims (D - Chicago) in partnership with the Illinois Department of Corrections and the Illinois Department of Public Health will be hosting a "Summit of Hope."

The Summit of Hope is a community expo that will bring service providers together to provide the necessary
services and resources to ex-offenders with the mission to guide and assist them with community services to ensure reintegration into the community and reduce recidivism. The Summit will be held:
August 6th - 8:00 am - 4:00 pm
