What If?

Wouldn't it be super it there was a Harrods and Barney's of New York to occupy the 84Th and King Drive vacant lot where Jewel-Osco once stood. Would some of this upscale magnitude be necessary to bring in the suburbanite shopper to upstart the economy of Chatham and create real opportunities and real jobs with real futures for our youth? Worlee,
That's not too nice...

though i think my thoughts might be considered rude as well...

Has CAPCC talked to Park Manor, who has SOLID plans to build their church in the spot.

What would be a better spot would be the 8200 block of King Drive, which has 4 empty lots, and underused retail buildings. if those were bought & demolished, it would be a better block for new development.

Guess who owns two of those lots and has the option on the third?

CAPCC...

that's why i said my suggestion might not be so nice...

It's tempting to post a "Wouldn't It be Nice" post ...Wouldn't it be nice if those lots were transformed into a community garden?

It'd be perfect use for it, and could easily be dismantled if a building needed to be developed.

It is to our understanding the 8200 block of King Drive (western side) was designated as a plot for a senior citizen community center. The group of Chathamites who had an interest (not equity) were vieing to get a $15 million federal grant to build. Is that still true if it ever was?

Wrong. Who are you talking to? I can't understand the disconnect here. You (blogger) have your own agenda and not the one of CAPCC,

Worlee,

they ARE in the community, at least drive through it.

One of the photos they have for Christmas lights is that of my neighbor. It might be old, but it certainly looks like last night's display (but not sure if they took down Santa, or if he was stolen).

As for who they are...clearly not Keith Tate, as he would know some of the facts. I suggest calling him atthe number provided at CAPCC.oRG
