The Tracey Lynn Johnson-Hayes Memorial Rodeo
Saturday, September 14, 2013 • Six Guns Ranch and Arena
(Crete, Illinois): Come watch the excitement of American rodeo, as cowgirls and cowboys compete in calf roping, team roping, ladies barrel racing, steer wrestling, bull riding, and the 3 person relay race for over $5,000 in prize money. A portion of the proceeds from this event will go to All About Pink a foundation was formed in an effort to educate and support those suffering and surviving the breast cancer disease. (allaboutpink.org)

In addition to the rodeo, we have planned a great afternoon of family fun. There will be pony rides and face painting for the kids, great music and a host of food and apparel vendors. Also some of our cowboys and cowgirls will be available for pictures.

Admission: $15 for adults; $8 for children age 6-12. Children age 5 and under are free. Tickets can be purchased in advance on the rodeo web page via PayPal:www.bit.ly/TLJHRodeo. Gates open at noon with the first event beginning at 1:00 p.m.

Contestants: books open September 4, 2013 at 6 pm CST and close at 9 pm CST. Contestants can also text entries to708.250.0392 with name, event, and hometown. $500 adm for each event.

The Hayes family and Six Guns Ranch and Arena established the rodeo and scholarship to honor the passion of Tracey Lynn Johnson-Hayes, Chicagoan, educator, Alpha Kappa Alpha soror (Gamma '85/UIllinois) and accomplished rodeo rider. Tracey, wife and mother of three, was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1999. She beat it only to have cancer return in 2006. This time it was terminal. Tracey was an amazing mother and educator with a love of horses and rodeo. She competed in barrel and relay races, owned horses and was a committed educator for Chicago Public Schools, until her untimely death in December of 2009.

Her family can think of no better way to honor her passion for rodeo and commitment to the education of our youth than through this event which seeks to fund an on going scholarship through All About Pink. A portion of all ticket sales and direct donations to All About Pink will benefit the scholarship in her name.
