Representative for a Day Essay competition - UPDATE

header 600
Dear Friend,
I pray you had a wonderful holiday season and the New Year is off to a great start for you and your family.
The purpose of this communication is to clarify conflicting information in the application materials for the "State Representative for a Day" essay competition. The intent was for participating students to write an essay with aMaximum of 500 words and aMinimum of 200 words on the topic: "If I were State Representative, I would..."
Unfortunately this discrepancy was missed and conflicting information was published. In recognition of the unintentional error, and the hard work students have done, judges will honor any essays written including a Maximum of 200words AND those including a Maximum of500 words, so as to not penalize the students for errors that were not theirs.
All other contest details remain unchanged. Thank you in advance for your attention to this matter and for passing this information along to interested contestants in the two divisions: elementary (5th and 6th grades) and junior high school (7th and 8th grades).
Warmest regards,
Elgie R. Sims, Jr.
State Representative -34th District

Good luck to all participants!!!
