DuSomething Powerful!
Almost everybody knows the story of Anne Frank, the young Jewish girl who perished during Hitlers Holocaust. She left a diary thats inspired millions the world over. Fewer people know about Emmett Till, a young Black boy just about the same age as Anne, who was tortured and lynched in Money, Mississippi for whistling at a white woman. His brutal murder helped change the course of American history.
Imagine Anne and Emmett meeting in a place called memory. What might they say to each other? Would they have anything in common to share? Or have any lessons for us? What happens if we dont listen to their voices? Are we doomed to simply repeat the past? What if we dont even remember them?
Don't miss the very special performance of Janet Langhart Cohen's Anne and Emmett!
