Final screenings! Black Harvest Film Festival, through August 30!

On Thursday, August 30, the Gene Siskel Film Center concludes its
18th Annual Black Harvest Film Festival,
the Midwest’s largest
Black film festival. The commitment, imagination, and creativity
of independent directors from throughout the U.S. and the world
bring stories and images of the black experience to life through
Chicago premieres of over 40 features, documentaries, and shorts.

Must-see movies include an advance screening of Brooklyn Castle,
featuring chess prodigies; made-in-Chicago feature Father’s Day;
Black superheroes in White Scripts and Black Supermen;
Lance Gross as an ex-NFL player in The Last Fall; and post-war
trauma in the thriller The Kill Hole.
