81st & Eberhart Gun Killing

We, at the Chatham Avalon Park Community Council, have learned of a gun shooting at 81st Street and Eberhart Avenue on Wednesday morning around 2:24 a.m. killing the victim. According to a Chicago Tribune staff report of January 1st, a man was fatally shot in the head and abdomen on a South Side street Wednesday, Chicago police said. Officers went to the 8100 block of South Eberhart Avenue about 2:24 a.m. and found David Earl Carney Jr., 21, unresponsive, Officer Daniel O'Brien said. Carney of the 4800 block of South Chicago Avenue was pronounced dead at 3:27 a.m. in a local hospital, officials said. You may also visit our website at http://www.capcc.org/.
