Our
Night On The Roof
One of the many highlights
from GoodWorkChicago was the opportunity to give five social entrepreneurs the
platform to share their stories and their ideas to make change in their
communities at our GoodNightChicago event, held at The Godfrey Hotel. These
social entrepreneurs will be a part of our Incubation Program, where we work
with them to incubate, grow their capacity, and help them collaborate so that
strategic public/private models are being created in our city and in other
communities.
Here are their
stories:
Alumni in
Business supports formerly incarcerated individuals with skills,
leadership and resources in order for them to launch and successfully run small
businesses in their communities.
2nd Chance Renovations buys
distressed homes and employs, trains, and empowers convicted felons who are
ready to enter society as productive, reformed, and law-abiding citizens to work
on these homes.
S-Word
Project creates a safe space for teens to talk about sex with
the long-term goal to reduce violence as a result of family
planning.
YogaCare
provides affordable access to yoga in underserved communities and their goal is
“yoga care for all” so that patients and providers alike have accessible
“self-care for healthcare” within the community.
Yellow Tracker seeks to improve
individual health and well-being by partnering with organizations that share a
common commitment to creating custom designed fruit and vegetable
gardens. |
