Neighborhood Recovery Initiative Youth Employment Program

The NRI Youth Employment Program connects talented and diverse young workers with businesses and organizations that will provide real-worlk work experience.

Mentors are needed to support these youth by promoting social and emotional development and facilitating successful summer employment.

These paid, part-time positions are open to anyone residing in NRI's 24 communities.  A background check will be required.

Youth Employment Program

NRI will provide mentoring, job skills training, and summer employment to 1,800 Chicago-area young people ages 16-24 in Summer 2013.  In these part-time, paid positions, mentors will:

  • Undergo mentoring certification training.
  • Attend 40 hours of youth job readiness training.
  • Plan and coordinate mentoring activities.
  • Serve as a point of contact for mentee/employer relationship and monitor youth employment.
  • Participate in community outreach events with youth.

The NRI Youth Employment Program offers job training and placement with employers in your community.


Neighborhood Recovery Initiative (NRI) Youth Employment Program connects talented and diverse young workers with businesses and organizations that will provide real-world work experience.

This program is open to young people ages 16-24 residing in NRI's 23 communities.  Pre-employment job training will be provided.  Employment will take place over nine weeks.

Youth Employment Program

NRI will provide job skills training to 1,800 Chicago-area young people, who will then be available to work part-time at local businesses and organizations in Summer 2013.
 
Youth will be paid for participating in 40 hours of job readiness training.  Training will take place over five weeks, from May 20 to June 21, 2013.
 
Youth will be paid for 160 hours of employment between June and August 2013.
 
Youth also will be paid for 18 hours of community outreach activities through the summer.

Parent Program

The Neighborhood Recovery Initiative (NRI) Parent Program will employ and empower 1,110 Parent Leaders within the 24 NRI communities to reduce the risk factors that contribute to violence and negativity while promoting protective factors that contribute to family and community stability, well-being and peace.

NRI seeks parents with passion, desire and enthusiasm for making positive changes within families and communities.

All community residents who consider themselves parents are eligible for employment, including teen parents, grandparents, foster parents, and non-custodial fathers.

NRI is taking applications NOW for these paid, part-time positions.

Parent Program
NRI's 19-week Parent Program is a collaboration of citizens, business, government, schools, and non profit organizations that will support parents in raising health, positive, and productive children.  Parent leaders will strenghten their own families and work in teams to advance transformation of their neighborhoods.  This program will:
 
  • Enhance parental and community resilence.
  • Facilitate friendships and mutual support among parents.
  • Host events that strengthen parenting.
  • Respond to family crises quickly and appropriately.
  • Connect families to services and resources.
  • Assist parents with understanding their children's social and emotional development.
  • Respond to the stress, anxiety, and trauma that parents and children face.

ANTI- ABUSE- ANTI-VIOLENCE PROJECT 20/20

HAS ARRIVED

 

MISSION: TO INCREASE PUBLIC SAFETY, HEAL & UPLIFT

THE RESIDENTS IN THE CHATHAM COMMUNITY .

 

We are seeking the support of our spiritual leaders, elected

officials, law enforcement, business owners, residents, parents,

grandparents, aunts, uncles, mentors, students  & youth.

 

During the entire month of March 2013 we will be hosting

Anti-Abuse- Anti Violence Sessions throughout the Chatham

Service Area.  Time out for excuses !!  Together we can Uplift &

Heal our community: one person, one family, one block, one

Community at a time!!

 

As an intrical part of spreading the word, we are hosting a

Poetry & Speakout Against It contest on “How Abuse

Violence helped destroy the core value system in our

Community” at the end of the month of March 2013. The 1st, 2nd & 3rd

Place winners will receive their awards at the CAPCC April 8, 2013

General Monthly Meeting.

 

We are seeking volunteers.  All anti- volunteers must pass a Mandatory

screening / background check. For more information, please contact
