Part-Time Bus Operator Job Fairs

The Chicago Transit Authority is hosting a series of job fairs for people

interested in Part-Time Bus Operator career opportunities.

The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA), the nation’s second largest transit agency,

is currently recruiting candidates for

Part-Time Bus Operators (PTBO).

CTA offers competitive wages, benefits and

solid growth potential. Starting salary is $19.27/hour.

Education/Experience Requirements:

Preferred candidates must:

• Have an exceptional driving record.

• Possess a valid Illinois Class “B” CDL driver’s license or CDL permit

with Knowledge, Passenger and Air Brakes Endorsements.

• Be at least 21 years old.

• Pass all applicable tests relating to this position, including drug and

alcohol testing mandated by the Federal Transportation Administration.

• Possess excellent customer service skills.

Job seekers are asked to bring with them the following:

• Valid Illinois Class “B” CDL driver’s license or permit

• Court Purpose Motor Vehicle Record (can be obtained at Secretary

of State)                         

Job fair attendees will have the opportunity to speak with

CTA Human Resources personnel about the position and

the benefits package available to PTBOs.

Attached is the application for the 2012-2013 Teen Esteem Program. TE is a civic service leadership development and college prep program sponsored by the Monarch Awards Foundation of Alpha Kappa Alpha's Xi Nu Omega Alumnae Chapter. Applications must be postmarked by Sunday, July 22, 2012. Applications are only accepted via mail (U.S. Postal Service). Only completed applications will be considered. Girls accepted into the program must pay a $25 fee that will be due at the mandatory TE orientation in August.

While the program is open to all high school girls in the Chicago area, new program participants must be rising freshmen (9th grade) through juniors (11th) (i.e., young ladies who will be seniors during the 2012-13 school year and who were not previously in the program are not eligible to apply.)
