JOB ANNOUNCEMENT 
Office of Emergency Management & Communications
Under direction, Project Manager is managerial in nature and accountable for senior manager level
functions; positions allocated to this class are characterized as having a broad scope of management responsibilities.
Position Overview
This position involves the operational efficiency of sensitive Public Safety related systems that must be running 24/7/365. Ideal candidates must possess the ability to perform under high stress, high intensity situations. The CAD Project Manager position requires the application of some high level technical and computer system knowledge, as well as general knowledge of network setup and network management. Knowledge of emergency response and related systems is strongly preferred. Knowledge of programming languages and computer development processes is preferred. Must have work force management skills and high level communication skills.
Duties: The Project Manager for the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) oversees the day to day operations of the CAD system, as well as other 9-1-1 Operations related systems such as the Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP). Works closely with both the CAD vendor (Northrop Grumman) and the 9-1-1 service provider (AT&T) and provides maintenance and upgrades to the 9-1-1 systems in order to be operational 24/7/365.  Constantly communicates with both teams and provides aid in new upgrades. Responds to potential 9-1-1 system emergencies 24 hours a day. Oversees the vetting, processing, management and production of over 20,000 data request that OEMC currently receives on a yearly basis, including data and report management. Assists with the management of the resources that provide responses to such requests. Assist with managing of the Management Information System used to track call takers, dispatchers, and supervisors and their access to various call handling systems. Performs variety of other related duties as required including being ON-CALL on a 24/7/365 basis, whenever necessary.

THIS POSITION IS EXEMPT FROM THE CAREER SERVICE.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Business or Public Administration, Computer Programming, Computer Science, Information Science, Management Information Systems, Software Engineering, or in a TECHNOLOGY related field of study directly related to the responsibilities of the position, PLUS five years of project management work experience.
