Curating opportunities for young people and caring adults every week.
OPPORTUNITY OF THE WEEK:
Happy Holidays from CCOL!
We want to wish a very happy holiday season to our community, whatever you may celebrate!
However you celebrate, we hope that our CCOL community can enjoy some time off school with loved ones. As we head into the new year, CCOL has a lot to be grateful for in 2017. Thank you for all that you have done to help Chicago kids engage in learning. We know that 2018 will be our best year yet!
And if you're looking for something fun for kids to do during the break, check out programs for the coming weeks on ChicagoCityofLearning.org
UPCOMING EVENT:
Chicago Youth Circus
This circus program runs three hours, and includes three skill workshops (two selected by the student and one selected by the coaches), large group warm-up and conditioning, creating an act as a group, and a lot of fun and games!
This CircEsteem program focuses on the community development and social circus.
Register (and apply for scholarships & financial aid!) at CircEsteem.org.
And find this program on ChicagoCityofLearning.org -- as well as many other performing arts programs for young adults!
During the Month of Code, Mayor Emanuel encourages youth to learn the coding language and use it to PLAY, DESIGN, & CREATE! Help Chicago log more than 25,000 hours of code by completing the Month of Code activities. Discover new Month of Code activities in your Chicago City of Learning portfolio.
This year, Parent University is creating opportunities for parents and students to learn how to code together during the Month of Code! Parent University events will be popping up all around Chicago. Find all of these opportunities by searching "Parent University" on ChicagoCityofLearning.org.
