ComEd Has New and Expanded Assistance Programs for Winter Utility Bills

Dear Resident,
After one of the coldest winters we’ve experienced in a long time, many families have endured sky-rocketing utility bills. We will have ComEd personnel at the Saturday Morning Forum this Saturday, March 8th, 2014, to sign customers up for assistance programs. The winter months can be a trying time for seniors and families, with this season being especially brutal. The hardships faced to pay ever increasing bills has been magnified, with many more households finding it harder to keep their bills current.

ComEd has dedicated $10 million in assistance funds in 2014 to help customers facing financial hardship pay their electric bill. Through April 1, 2014 ComEd has adjusted the eligibility requirements for financial assistance programs for eligible residents including seniors, veterans and activated members of the armed services. In addition, the company is now offering flexible budget billing and flexible deferred payment agreement options to assist customers receiving higher than normal bills in light of the severe cold weather blanketing northern Illinois.

Please join us this Saturday and utilize the new resources available to ComEd customers.
