Chicago Police Department Accpeting Applications

From November 1st to December 16th, the City of Chicago is accepting applications to become a Chicago Police Officer. We all want our police force to represent the entire city that it serves, and we are making it a priority to recruitfrom all of Chicago's neighborhoods. We are asking your help to spread the word- by forwarding this information to your networks and, if you are interested, by hosting a recruiting event.

What you need to know:
  • The application period is open from November 1 to December 16.
  • The starting salary for new officers is over $47,000 and can increase to over $72,000 in just 18 months. Becoming a police officer provides more than a great source of income, it provides you with a great sense of pride for you and your community - and the benefits for you and your family are tremendous
  • Anyone 18 and older may apply. The first step is to apply for the entrance exam by following these three easy steps:
    • Submit the application
    • Fill out a quick application with your contact information online
    • Visit www.chicagopolice.org
Commission members have been vocal in noting the need for a diverse policeforce that draws officers from all of Chicago's neighborhoods. We are counting on you to help us spread the word about this application opportunity, so that our next generation of officers is as diverse as the city they will serve. Please share this information with your networks, and if you are interested in possibly hosting a recruitment event, please email Lena Swanson-Nystrom at Helena.swanson-nystrom@ cityofchicago.org
